On July 8, the second working meeting of the intersectoral expert group took place in Lviv, during which the participants continued their work on a new socio-psychological rehabilitation program for teenagers with experience using psychoactive substances (PAS). The experts examined the revised version of the program in detail, analyzed the changes made after the first meeting, and developed recommendations for its final improvement.
The discussion centered on all the key components of the future support model:
- timely prevention of psychoactive substance use among youth;
- professional work with addicted parents and codependent family members;
- the socio-psychological rehabilitation program itself;
- post-rehabilitation support aimed at helping teenagers consolidate positive results and successfully return to everyday life.
We are deeply convinced that an effective support system must be built exclusively on evidence-based approaches, close intersectoral cooperation, and real practical experience. This is exactly how, step by step, a model is formed that will allow teenagers and their families to receive timely, comprehensive, and high-quality assistance.
The Lviv City Council, the Child Services Department of the Lviv City Council, and Ridni Foundation are jointly working on the creation of this model, with the support of the Coordination Center for Family-Based Care and Child Care Development, the Public Health Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, and the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
