Expert Meeting on Supporting Youth with Risky Behavior Held at Ridni Center

Ridni Center for Social Support of Children and Families hosted a working meeting of cross-sectoral experts. The main topic of discussion was the development of an early intervention system for teenagers and youth who have experience with substance use.

According to the 2025 National Report, every seventh teenager in Ukraine aged 15–16 has already had experience with such substances. Participants of the meeting noted that the current support system is often adult-oriented, leaving teenagers and their families without timely professional guidance.

Key issues addressed during the meeting:

  • Early response: how to identify the problem and provide assistance before addiction becomes chronic.
  • Family support: creating mechanisms that prevent parents from facing challenges alone.
  • Cross-sectoral cooperation: joining the efforts of medical, social, and educational services.

The event was organized by the Lviv City Council and the Lviv Children’s Service in collaboration with Ridni Foundation. The initiative was implemented with the support of the Coordination Center for the Development of Family-Based Care and Child Care, as well as UNICEF.
