Seven magical words of parenting: a column by Ridni Foundation

Parenting is not just about daily care, but also about a deep emotional bond that lays the foundation for a child’s entire future life.

Rubryka or NV media has published an op-ed by Iryna Ferko, Head of the Psychological Supervision Department at Ridni Foundation, dedicated to the psychological aspects of upbringing and the importance of the words parents say to their children.

In the article, the psychologist analyzes seven key words of parenting, including:

  • Love. The fundamental word that provides a child with unconditional acceptance and a sense of their own worth.
  • Protect. The language of safety and care, which forms the basis for healthy psychological development.
  • Believe. Expressions like “I believe you” and “I believe in you,” which help build a strong inner support system and healthy self-esteem.
  • Proud. The ability of parents to notice not only grand achievements but also a child’s quiet daily efforts, sharing the joy of small victories with them.
