Podcast “Finally, we met.” Episode 7. Time, care, and safety: How foster families support children in crisis

Publication content

In the latest episode of “Finally, we met,” we share a heartwarming conversation about the world of foster care.

Alla decided to become a foster parent, and her husband, Mykola, supported her from the very start. Despite having four children of their own, they took this step to ensure that children facing difficult life circumstances wouldn’t end up in institutional care. Over the past three years, Alla and Mykola have welcomed five children, each with their own unique story, into their home.

This episode is for anyone looking to understand what foster care truly entails and how it works in real life. We discuss building attachments, the daily challenges foster parents face, and what it takes to provide care, warmth, and love during a time of crisis.

The project is being implemented by the Ridni Foundation in partnership with UNICEF.
