A training on “Trauma-informed approach to supporting and guiding preschool children with delayed speech development” was held at the Lviv Regional Children and Family Support Centre.
During the session, together with trainer Svitlana Lokotkova, the specialists thoroughly analyzed the specifics of speech development in preschoolers, the early signs of potential difficulties, and effective approaches to their timely detection.
Special attention at the training was given to the specifics of working with children who have experienced traumatic events or prolonged stressful situations. The participants also discussed the importance of systemic interaction among all professionals directly involved in supporting the child and their family.
A significant part of the learning process was dedicated to practice, in particular, play-based pedagogy. The specialists mastered useful speech games and explored ways to naturally integrate them into children’s daily lives. Thanks to this, the professionals were able to expand their practical toolkit, which they will soon use in their work.
