On May 28, Kyiv hosted the fifth meeting of the Council of Regions focused on implementing the Strategy to Ensure Every Child’s Right to Grow Up in a Family Environment. The discussion brought together representatives from ministries, regional military administrations, non-governmental, and international organizations.
Marta Hrytsyk, Director of the Government Relations Department at Ridni Foundation, represented the foundation at the event.
During the meeting, participants addressed key challenges and solutions regarding child and family support within communities. The agenda covered the development of family-based care, foster care services, support for children returning from temporarily occupied territories, and the transformation of the institutional care system.
Special emphasis was placed on the principle that the reform is not about closing facilities, but about establishing a robust support system where a child is not left alone facing risks, and the community is equipped with tools to provide timely assistance to families.
For us, it is crucial to be an active part of this dialogue and the collective search for solutions that help create a safe environment for every Ukrainian child.
