What does it truly mean to be a mentor to a child growing up in an institutional care?

In this episode of the podcast “Finally, we met,” we discuss why the presence of an adult is more important than any St. Nicholas Day gifts, how a child’s trust is built, and how even a few hours a week can change a future. Alina Shapoval, who is a mentor to two girls, shared her story with us.

We talked about mentorship in practice, the necessary steps to get involved, the emotional challenges children face, and how mentors help them find support and motivation. This episode is for everyone who wants to understand the topic, be inspired, and realize how each of us can support children from institutional care.

The project is being implemented by the Ridni Foundation in partnership with UNICEF.
