Ethical communication in child rights protection: a column by Ridni Foundation

Communication in the field of child rights protection is much more than just sharing information or gaining support. It is a space of immense responsibility, where every word, every photograph, and every approach can become either a tool for protection or a source of harm.

In her latest article for Rubryka, Alona Onyshchenko, Director of the Communications and Partnerships Department at Ridni Foundation, analyzes the key principles of building communication based on dignity, safety, and respect for a child’s personality.

“Ethical communication does not mean avoiding difficult topics. On the contrary, it allows us to discuss them honestly, responsibly, and with respect for the people whose stories become public,” notes Alona Onyshchenko.

This material is an invitation to a professional dialogue for journalists, volunteers, and colleagues in the civil society sector. We believe that collective adherence to ethical standards will help create a safe information environment for every teenager and every family in Ukraine.
